I have loved this story for a long time, at least since I was a teenager. And this new version of it has illustrations by P.J. Lynch! The illustrator of Jonathan Toomey! Does it GET any better than that? So I added it to our collection this year.
But in a last word to the wise of these days let it be said that of all who give gifts these two were the wisest. Of all who give and receive gifts, such as they are wisest. Everywhere they are wisest. They are the magi.

And for the record - I'm going to really miss your calendar next year too! It always gave me a good laugh!
